Winnetka Avenue Construction Planned

The Cook County Highway Department will begin construction work on Winnetka Avenue between Happ and the Edens Expressway.

Winnetka Avenue will remain open to east and west bound traffic at all times. Detours will be put in place for the Frontage Road intersections in two phases:

Phase I. The northern half of Winnetka Avenue will be reconstructed from just east of Happ to the Edens Bridge. The northern intersection of Frontage Road and Winnetka Avenue will be closed. Local traffic will be detoured north to Harding Road. Click here to see the detour route.

Phase II. The southern half of Winnetka Avenue will be reconstructed from just east of Happ to the Edens Bridge. The southern intersection of Frontage Road and Winnetka Avenue will be closed. Local traffic will be detoured south to Illinois. Click here to see the detour route.

Construction work is scheduled to be completed by December 29.
