Antiques + Modernism Show Celebrates 51 Years!

A shopping experience like no other takes place November 3rd through 5th at Winnetka's Community House.

Celebrating 51 years, the Antiques + Modernism Winnetka Show (A+M) returns to the Community House in Winnetka this fall with a Preview Party on Thursday evening, November 2nd, followed by a fabulous show weekend Friday, November 3rd through Sunday, November 5th. Presented by The Woman’s Board of Winnetka’s Community House, this spectacular style and design event takes place on Chicago’s beautiful North Shore and is a beloved favorite of locals and beyond!

“I’m thrilled to be part of this year’s Antiques + Modernism Show,” said Winnetka resident, Kathryn Kish, one of the co-chairs of A+M 2023. “I’ve had the privilege of serving on the A+M committee in the past and I’m especially excited to co-chair this incredible event with my friend, Kelly Laszlo,” she added. “It’s an honor to be part of something so special with such a long and treasured history.”

A+M Winnetka is the ultimate destination for interior designers, treasure hunters and collectors alike. Ranging in styles from classic to modern, the show features exquisite home furnishings and accessories, artwork, clothing, jewelry and more, all available for purchase from dealers throughout the country.

As in years past, A+M will welcome dozens of distinguished antique dealers who will present their American, European and Asian collections, while those specializing in modern pieces will display work from various design movements including Mid-Century Modern, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco. Everything is for sale and all proceeds from A+M will benefit Winnetka’s Community House, a local 501(c)3 organization that provides educational, cultural, social, and recreational opportunities for people of all ages.

“I’ve always loved the Antiques + Modernism Show,” said co-chair Kelly Laszlo, who is also a Winnetka resident. “Attending the show has been an annual tradition for years, and now I have the opportunity to experience A+M from the inside out,” she added. “The show has definitely evolved throughout the years, and a lot has changed since the first show back in the 1970’s, but at its core it’s a wonderful community event and an important fundraiser for the Community House. I’m so proud to be part of it.”

In addition to the show itself, which features more than 40 of the country’s finest dealers of antiques and modern pieces, A+M 2023 also includes an opportunity to Shop the Show with nationally renowned dealer and appraiser, J. Michael Flanigan. On Friday morning, November 3rd, Michael (who appeared on the Antiques Roadshow PBS television series) will lead guests on a private tour of the show, offer insights and stories about various pieces, and answer questions.

“He’s extremely knowledgeable and so engaging,” said Kish. “He was with us last year and his tour sold out, so if you’re interested, get your ticket sooner rather than later!” Tickets for Shop the Show are $50 and include a 3-day admission to A+M, as well as coffee and pastries.

Tickets for the Preview Party on Thursday, November 2nd are $150 in advance and $175 at the door. The event is from 6:30 to 9:30 pm and features seasonal food, inspired cocktails and early access to start buying at the show before it opens to the general public. There will also be a bourbon tasting, included in the ticket price. Tickets for the three-day show are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. On Sunday morning, guests will be treated to a Bloody Mary bar, included with their admission. All tickets can be purchased at TheWinnetkaShow.com.

“There is truly something for everyone at A+M,” said Laszlo. “Whether you’re looking to purchase an antique desk, contemporary artwork, or a piece of vintage jewelry, you’ll find it at this show!
