Driver Hits Cars at Land Rover Dealership, Arrested for DUI

The following information is from the Winnetka Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DUI

Jose J. Colon, 28, of the 1400 block of W. Wilson in Chicago, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the Land Rover dealership on Green Bay Road in Winnetka at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 28. He was also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage. According to police, he drove into several cars at the dealership. He has an Oct. 24 court date.

Driving with an expired license

Benjamin C. Ticknor, 31, of the 1000 block of Ridge Road in Evanston, was arrested for having an expired driver’s license at Elm and Sheridan at 8:45 p.m. Sept. 28. He was also cited for no rear registration plate. He has a Nov. 12 court date.

Jewelry stolen from home

A resident in the 100 block of Spring Lane discovered that between Aug. 1 and Sept. 11, someone stole $360 worth of jewelry from the home.

Jewelry stolen in burglary

Someone stole various pieces of jewelry worth more than $10,000 from an unlocked home in the 1000 block of Westmoor Road between 9:30 and 10:20 a.m. Oct. 1.

Tires damaged

Someone used a sharp object to damage both rear tires on a vehicle in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue between 8 and 9 p.m. Oct. 1. The estimated loss is $200.

Domestic battery

Uulu S. Sagaly, 24, of the 6100 block of N. Fairfield Ave. in Chicago, was arrested for domestic battery in the 1000 block of Tower Court at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 2. A cab driver had called 911 to say the battery was taking place in his cab.
