Faith, Hope & Charity Recognized as 2023 National Blue Ribbon School
One of twenty schools in Illinois to receive the award in 2023

U.S. Secretary of Education, Miguel Cardona announced that the School of Saints Faith, Hope & Charity in Winnetka, Illinois has been awarded the distinction of National Blue Ribbon School for 2023. This is the second time FHC has been awarded the Blue Ribbon, having been previously recognized, in 2014.
Saints Faith, Hope & Charity’s Principal, Dr. Thomas Meagher commented, “We are so incredibly proud of this recognition. Every single school and parish staff member – as well as our FHC students and parents - helped us to earn this year’s award. We are very much a family – united in our mission of providing an exceptional educational experience, one which develops the whole child--spiritually, academically and morally.”
The student body, staff and faculty of FHC celebrated the surprise award on Tuesday, September 19th as they watched the live announcement. The students were treated to a surprise afternoon of ‘blue’ activities to include blue handprint station, DJ and blue snow cones. FHC will be represented by Dr. Meagher and key members of his staff at a formal recognition ceremony acknowledging the school’s achievement in Washington, D.C. this November.

Superintendent of the Archdiocese of Chicago Schools, Greg Richmond commented on the achievement, "Faith, Hope and Charity has been providing its students with an excellent education for generations. This Blue Ribbon is a wonderful recognition of the teachers and students who work so hard and with such dedication year after year."
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has been recognizing great American schools since 1982. The Program honors high performing public and private elementary, middle, and high schools. “High performing” means that the achievement of the school’s students in the most recently completed school year places the school in the top 15 percent in the nation in reading and mathematics as measured by a nationally normed test.
