Flags Planted on Winnetka Green for 9/11 Remembrance

Jessica Tucker submitted this photo of the 9/11 remembrance event at the village green.

Wednesday afternoon,, residents, veterans, students, families and first responders planted 2,977 American flags, one for each victim of the terrorist attacks. The memorial remains standing until sundown Thursday, when the flags are removed and carefully stored for next year’s observance.
