Glenview Woman Suffers 'Incapacitating Injuries' After Being Hit By Motorist In Northfield
A 72-year-old woman was struck by a driver turning right on Waukegan Road as she walked her dog in a crosswalk.

NORTHFIELD, IL — A 72-year-old woman from Glenview was hospitalized Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle while walking her dog in a Northfield crosswalk.
The crash happened around 8:36 a.m. when a driver turned onto Waukegan Road, hitting the woman as she crossed the street, police said.
Passersby watched as first responders worked to stabilize her before she was rushed to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital with "incapacitating injuries," according to Northfield police. The woman remained under medical care as of Thursday night.

The crash closed Waukegan Road for hours as police and crash specialists investigated.
Police said the driver, a 40-year-old man, stayed at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
