The New Trier Citizens League is seeking interested residents to serve New Trier Township as Supervisor, Trustee, Clerk, or Assessor. Elected Officials serve a four-year term, including monthly, evening board meetings. The Board oversees the work of the Township in conjunction with the Supervisor, and Trustees participate on Advisory Committees, which recommend funding for social service agencies that meet the fundamental needs of residents.
New Trier Township’s mission is to provide leadership, advocacy and resources to benefit the physical, mental and social wellbeing of Township residents. Established in 1850, New Trier Township government serves the nearly 57,000 residents in the villages of Glencoe, Kenilworth, Wilmette and Winnetka, plus portions of Glenview and Northfield. The Township Office is located at 739 Elm Street in Winnetka or on-line at www.newtriertownship.comThe New Trier Citizens League is a non-partisan community organization made up of volunteers who function to endorse a slate of candidates to serve as Township officials. Secondarily, the Citizens League functions as a watchdog group to provide oversight on behalf of residents to observe the work of New Trier Township.
Township officials must be registered voters who have resided in New Trier Township for a year and not been convicted of a felony.

The Citizens League candidate endorsement process is already underway. Endorsed candidates can petition together this fall for the April 1, 2025 Consolidated Election. Interested parties or those wishing to nominate an acquaintance are encouraged to contact League President Peter Tyor at 847-924-8457 or petertyor@gmail.com for more information. The deadline for submitting a questionnaire and resume materials is October 6, 2024. Qualified candidates will be interviewed by the Citizens League ahead of the endorsement decisions. Citizens League endorsement is not a prerequisite to petitioning for the ballot.
