On Monday, February 28, 2022, the Cook County Department of Public Health plans to lift Mitigation Order 2021-11, which required masks in indoor public places and required patrons to provide proof of vaccination in settings where food and drinks are served. Beginning Monday, masks will no longer be required in most indoor settings, and proof of vaccination or weekly testing for employees covered by Mitigation Order 2021-11 will no longer be required. Masks will continue to be required in healthcare settings, on public transportation, in transportation hubs, and in congregate care settings, as required by state or federal orders.View the press release for this announcement here.
