The Winnetka Historical Society raised $152,000 at its annual Gala this year titled “Great Scott! It’s a Garden Gala” on June 1st . The event was attended by 140 supporters and held at the historic home of Katie Hazelwood at 270 Scott Avenue in Winnetka. Funds were raised through business sponsors, The Paige Dooley Team and Konstant Architecture Planning, as well as a major sponsorship from Jim & Carol Hansen. In addition individual sponsors, ticket sales, a live auction, paddle raise and other donations added to the success of the event.
Guests enjoyed cocktails & hors d’oeuvres, entertainment from graduates of the Music Institute of Chicago, a delicious dinner and competed in a fascinating team trivia. The live auction featured items, such as an Italian Getaway in Tuscany, an Exclusive Gallery Tour of Crab Tree Farm, Chicago Cubs, Bears & Blackhawk Tickets, an Acadia National Park Vacation and a Private Tour and Dinner at the Historic Lloyd House.
Gala co-chairs, Kristen Kleinops and Mary Westerman along with WHS board members worked tirelessly to ensure a fabulous event in spite of the rainy weather. The Winnetka Historical Society is grateful to all the Gala donors and especially to Katie Hazelwood for welcoming us to her fabulous home.
