Winnetka Mansion Sale Breaks Chicagoland Record: Report

For the second time this year, a Winnetka mansion has set a record for its sale price.

WINNETKA, IL — Another Winnetka mansion sale has broken a Chicagoland record this week, surpassing the record just set in August.

A lakefront mansion in the Chicago suburb just sold for $34.5 million, listing agent Jena Radnay confirmed to NBC Chicago.

The five-bedroom, 16,000 square-foot home was featured in Architectural Digest in 2019. Designer Northworks Architecture described the property as "a custom-made home that blends classic French Provincial architecture with the necessary elements of a modern-day lifestyle."

"Set high above Lake Michigan on the bluffs of Chicago’s North Shore, a new country estate reveals sweeping views over the water. Surrounded by gardens, its timeless aesthetic creates the impression that the house could have been built long ago," the company said on its website.

The sale price passed the previous record set just months earlier with the Windsor House, which sold for $31.3 million.
