Winnetka's School of Saints Faith, Hope & Charity Awarded National Blue Ribbon
Only 337 schools nationwide made the cut.

Several suburban schools were recognized Tuesday as 2014 National Blue Ribbon Schools.
The prestigious award is awarded by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan to only 337 schools nationwide and is based on overall academic excellence or on the school’s progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

In the suburbs, the following schools made this year’s cut as a 2014 Blue Ribbon School:
- Fairview Elementary School in Hoffman Estatesin
- Barbara B. Rose Elementary School in South Barrington
- Brook Forest Elementary School in Oak Brook
- Holy Cross School in Deerfield
- Oak Elementary School in Hinsdale
- Ogden Avenue Elementary School in La Grange
- Park View Elementary School in Lombard
- Prince of Peace Catholic School in Lake Villa
- Rockland Elementary School in Libertyville
- Saint Mary School in Buffalo Grove
- Saint Viator High School in Arlington Heights
- Seventh Avenue Elementary Schoo lin La Grange
- Spring Avenue Elementary School, La Grange
- St. Cletus Elementary School, La Grange
- St. Hubert School in Hoffman Estates
- St. John the Evangelist School in Streamwood
- Stella May Swartz Elementary School in Oakbrook Terrace
- The School of Saints Faith, Hope & Charity in Winnetka

This year’s award winners will be honored at a recognition ceremony on Nov. 10 to 11 in Washington, D.C. Each school will receive a plaque and a flag as symbols of their status as National Blue Ribbon Schools.
In its 32-year history, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has handed out awards to under 7,900 schools across the U.S.
