Winnetka's School of Saints Faith, Hope & Charity Awarded National Blue Ribbon

Only 337 schools nationwide made the cut.

Several suburban schools were recognized Tuesday as 2014 National Blue Ribbon Schools.

The prestigious award is awarded by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan to only 337 schools nationwide and is based on overall academic excellence or on the school’s progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

This year’s award winners will be honored at a recognition ceremony on Nov. 10 to 11 in Washington, D.C. Each school will receive a plaque and a flag as symbols of their status as National Blue Ribbon Schools.

In its 32-year history, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has handed out awards to under 7,900 schools across the U.S.
