The 'Angel Of The Family,' Gary Mom Helps Kids When Parents Lose Way

GARY, IN— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your mom extra special?

My mom has lived cancer free for fourteen years. She's the angel of the family who has taken in children when their parents lost their way. She volunteers weekly at a local good bank to ensure that families who are less fortunate receive the food they need for their family’s well-being. She is selfless and always works to empower the lives of others. She never complains.

Why do you feel your mom deserves the spotlight?

She does not brag or boast about anything that she does. She never asks for a penny in return. She gives genuinely from her heart.
