Fatal Heart Attack Interrupts Man's Gary Stabbing Rampage
Police reported the 34-year-old man was given medical treatment and CPR after being disarmed inside Gary store.

GARY, IN — A man's Sunday stabbing spree at a northwest Indiana store took a sudden turn when he suffered an apparent heart attack and died. The Chicago Sun Times reported the 34-year-old man grabbed a kitchen knife on display inside Miller K Market, 5019 E. Dunes Highway in Gary around 3:40 p.m. and slashed a 60-year-old man's hand, according to Gary Police Department Cmdr. Jack Hamady. Police said a 19-year-old male employee was stabbed in the right bicep when he went to help the customer, according to the news report.
The attacker attempted more stabbing until two employees tackled him and officers arrived, police said. However, police said the man started having trouble breathing and was given CPR by an officer and employees after he was disarmed, according to the Sun-Times.
According to the news report, police said the man and the two stabbing victims were taken to Methodist Hospital Northlake Campus, where the man died.
