Teen Pleads Not Guilty To Killing Doctor In Deadly Crime Spree
An 18-year-old accused of murdering a local doctor pleaded not guilty this week at his first court appearance since his Thursday arrest.
INDIANAPOLIS -- An 18-year-old accused of murdering an Indianapolis doctor pleaded not guilty this week at his first court appearance since his Thursday arrest.
Ka'Ron Bickham-Hurst is charged with fatally shooting Indiana University doctor and teacher, Kevin Rodgers, who was found dead on Nov. 20 in his home on the city's northwest side, according to U.S. News and World Report.

"Investigators say they believe the 61-year-old Rodgers walked in on a burglary and was shot in the head and stomach," the story says, noting that Bickham-Hurst is also facing burglary and theft charges.

A 15-year-old juvenile is also in police custody, reported WTHR 13, and several of their friends may have also been involved.
"The murder investigation uncovered a teen burglary ring involving several young boys making money by reportedly pawning their stolen items," the story said, later listing some of the individuals and their respective charges.
