Meet A Future Leader In Merrillville: Jameelah Ali
Patch and T-Mobile have partnered to highlight young people achieving great things in our community.

The future of Merrillville is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Jameelah Ali, who are making a positive impact in and around Merrillville.
Jameelah Ali, a Merrillville native and recent graduate of Southern Methodist University, embodies resilience and dedication as a first-generation college graduate. As the Salutatorian of Merrillville High School’s Class of 2021, Jameelah excelled academically and took on numerous leadership roles, including Class Body President, ENL Club President and Vice President of the Interact Club. Her high school achievements also included completing 16 AP and dual credit courses with a 4.56 GPA, setting the foundation for her success at SMU.
At SMU, Jameelah pursued a BBA in business analytics and supply chain management, showcasing her commitment to both academic and professional. As one of 25 first-gen graduates recognized by SMU this winter, she celebrated her achievement with a first-gen stole, symbolizing her journey and determination to succeed.
