The days following Thanksgiving through the end of the year serve as a time for intentional gratitude and reflection for me. I’m already finding my schedule slowing down a bit… and after the intensity of the last two years, I welcome a bit of downtime with my family. As we near the mid-point of this first term as Zionsville’s mayor, I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve this community.

Since stepping into this role, I am proud of our successes and our team’s commitment to the highest level of service to Zionsville citizens. We progressed through economic development achievements, infrastructure improvements, public engagement and quality of life and place enhancements. This year alone we published the Zionsville Gateway Area final draft study, we completed the North-South Connector project, we opened the doors of the Municipal Action Center to better serve Zionsville customers and we launched the Community Enrichment Grant program funding 13 local non-profits. We also implemented Zionsville’s first Climate Action Plan. 

Early next year we will open a brand-new park, Overley-Worman, we will begin public engagement and master planning for the Carpenter Nature Preserve and we will launch the Zionsville Parks 5-Year Master Plan. Be on the lookout for more 2021 highlights in our Town’s second annual report that will land in your mailboxes early next year. 

I hope you too find time this month to slow down and be present with family and friends. It is a joy and an honor to serve as your mayor.
