Town Of Zionsville: ZPD Announces Promotion Of Captain Drake Sterling

Zionsville Police Department Chief Michael Spears and Mayor Emily Styron are pleased to announce that Lieutenant Drake Sterling has been promoted to the rank of captain. He will oversee the administration section and investigations.

Sterling has 12 years of experience in law enforcement and has been a member of the Boone County Special Response Team (SWAT) for eight years. He began with ZPD in March of 2010. In 2014 he was promoted to patrol sergeant and in 2016 he was promoted to patrol lieutenant.

“I am very pleased to elevate Drake Sterling to the rank of Captain,” said Chief Spears. “He has worked very hard, proven his ability and earned this position. I have great confidence in his ability and look forward to his leadership.”
