Ames High Musical Comedy β€œThe Pajama Game” Opens Feb. 1

Ames High Drama and the Music Department will present "The Pajama Game" the weekend of Feb. 1.

Ames High School's Drama and Music departments will present β€œThe Pajama Game,” at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 1 and Saturday, Feb. 2, and at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 3, in the Ames High School Auditorium.

The musical comedy is based on the novel by George Abbott and Richard Bissell, with music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. It is set at the Sleep Tite Pajama Factory and debuted on Broadway in 1954.

The Ames High cast brings a contemporary flair to songs like β€œOnce A Year Day,” β€œSteam Heat” and the always catchy β€œHernando’s Hideaway,” according to a release from the school's community relations director, Kathy Hanson.

Tickets are $8 for students and $10 for adults, and will be available for presale Jan. 28. Passes will be honored only for the Sunday performance.
