Ames Library Board to Vote on Asbestos, Lead-Based Paint Contract and Lease Space

The Ames Library Board of Trustees meets on Thursday. Major items on the agenda are connected to the library renovation project.

trustees will vote on a $45,515 contract with Terracon Consultants, Inc., to remove asbestos and lead-based paint when the board meets on Thursday.

The removal and disposal is part of the projection.

The board will also consider making a formal request to City Council to lease temporary space for the library at two addresses on Lincoln Way, according to the meeting agenda notes.

One request is to lease office and storage space at 809 E. Lincoln Way for $1,500 per month plus utilities for two years beginning on Sept. 1. The second address is 620 Lincoln Way. The agenda states this lease is for two suites, but it does not specify the cost of this agreement.
