Ames Police: Bar Assault Leads to Drug Charges
A woman accused of assaulting an acquaintance at Charlie Yokes Feb. 11 found herself in more trouble when police came to her home to talk to her about it.

An Ames woman and a Des Moines man were charged with possession of a controlled substance on Feb. 11, after the woman assaulted an acquaintance at a local bar, according to criminal complaints.
A woman at Charlie Yokes reported that Amanda Frey approached her in the bar early Feb. 11 and kicked her, pulled her hair and hit her in the nose, according to complaints.
Police went to speak to Frey who said that she was intoxicated and couldn't remember what happened, complaints said. Police them applied for a search warrant and found marijuana and other items in Frey's Kellogg Ave., home. Both Frey and Marcus Devan, 22, were charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Frey was also charged with assault and Devan was charged with failure to appear.
