
Burglary
A 19-year-old man was charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony, for a January home burglary.
Lawrence Abston stole items from a Lettie Street home Jan. 3, according to criminal complaints. Residents of the home reported that two guitars and several items were stolen Jan. 3 and police recovered two of the guitars at a pawn shop in Des Moines, complaints said. Abston, of Des Moines, pawned the guitars but said that a man had given them to him, complaints said.

Abston was charged with burglary last week. Class D felonies are punishable by up to five years in prison.

A 27-year-old Ames man was charged with simple domestic assault after police went to investigate a reported domestic dispute last week. A third person said that Brandon Kolb was hitting the wall and yelling and when police went to investigate he answered the door with bloody knuckles and wouldn't allow police to come in and said a little domestic dispute was going on, complaints said.
Police spoke to a woman in the home who said she felt she had been assaulted and Kolb was charged with simple domestic assault.

Brandon Kolb, 27, Hilltop, was charged with simple domestic assault at 7:30 p.m.
Anthony Miller, 36, Council Bluffs, was charged with two counts of third-degree theft and aggravated theft at 12:31 a.m.
Bradley Rach, 58, Minn., was charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense; at 1:50 a.m.

Michael Burns, 27, Des Moines, was charged with public intoxication and fifth-degree shoplifting at 3:07 p.m.
Gene Carter, 40, Nevada, was charged with failure to appear at 10:44 a.m.
Justin Kooiker, 19, Nevada, was charged with third-degree harassment at 1:40 p.m.
Feb. 28
Juan Ayala, 31, Nevada, was charged with driving while barred at 12:10 a.m.
William Krock, 24, Lincoln Way, was charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense; failure to maintain registration plate and failure to have a valid license or permit while driving at 1:50 a.m.
Alex Lake-Garcia, 24, Curtiss Ave., was charged with public intoxication at 2:33 a.m.
March 1
Eric Andren, 24, S. Wilmoth Ave., was charged with public intoxication at 12:53 a.m.
Kristina Wieland, 20, Grand Ave., was charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana at 1:10 a.m.
