Ames Police Blotter: Dec. 3 to Dec. 6

An Ames man was charged with domestic assault and child endangerment Dec. 4. after neighbors of the man called police because they heard a male and female arguing, complaints said.

When police arrived the woman was gone but the man, Jeffrey Erwin, Jr., was standing outside the apartment home talking on the phone, complaints said. He said that he got into a verbal argument with his girlfriend and she became upset and left with her two-year-old daughter, complaints stated.

Police searched the home and couldn't find the woman and drove around until they found her driving and pulled her over. She had marks on her neck consistent with strangulation, complaints said.

Jeffrey Erwin, Jr., 24, Ames, was charged with aggravated assault and child endangerment at 12:50 a.m.

Cynthia Ross, 40, Boone, was charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense; at 1:10 a.m.

Dec. 5

Simon Solomon, 21, 13th Street, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Devonte Welch, 21, 13th Street, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension.

Robert Baker, 54, no address, was charged with trespass.

Antoine Worthum, 24, was charged with second-degree theft and fourth-degree theft.
