Ames Police Blotter: Felony Domestic Assault and Drug Possession
Ames Police Blotter Dec. 7 to Dec. 10.
A 32-year-old Ames man was charged aggravated domestic abuse, a class D felony, after his girlfriend reported that he kicked, punched and choked her on Dec. 9, according to criminal complaints.
When Ames police arrived at the home, Rodney Hampton, had left, complaints said. His girlfriend had fresh red marks and scratches on her neck consistent with strangulation, complaints stated. Hampton was arrested a short time later. The charge is a class D felony punishable by five years in prison.
And a Nevada man was arrested Dec. 8 on three counts of felony drug possession with intent to deliver and failure to affix a drug tax stamp, all class D felonies, punishable by five years in prison. According to complaints Lloyd Hopkins, 29, sold 28.5 grams and 119.9 grams of marijuana on May 9 and May 10 in Ames, criminal complaints stated.

Lloyd Hopkins, 29, Nevada, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and failure to affix a drug tax stamp at 9:06 a.m.
Harlan Baker, 29, Rockwell Ave., was charged with public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia at 2:19 a.m. at 4731 Mortensen Road.
Denise Lawson, 57, Burnett Ave., was charged with fourth-degree theft for shoplifting at 4:45 p.m. at 534 S. Duff Ave.
Kevin Twedt, 54, Florida Ave., was charged with operating while intoxicated, first offense at 9:03 p.m. at 3129 Ontario St.

Hannah Salomon, 18, Maple Hall, was charged with public intoxication at 2:02 a.m. at 1111 Duff Avenue.
James Buttermore, 22, Stanton Ave., was charged with nuisance party regulations at 4:15 a.m. at 215 Stanton Ave.
Andrew Petitt, 22, Stanton Ave., was charged with nuisance party regulations at 4:15 a.m. at 215 Stanton Ave.
Zachary Collett, 23, Stanton Ave., was charged with nuisance party regulations at 4:15 a.m. at 215 Stanton Ave.
Adrien Ross, 30, Orange Ave., was charged with public intoxication at 4:42 a.m. at 200 Orange Ave.
Kaluba Namoonde, 21, Fort Dodge was charged with fifth-degree theft for shoplifting at 3 p.m. 534 S. Duff Ave.
Rodney Hampton, 32, Welch Avenue, was charged with aggravated domestic assault at 6:42 p.m. at a Welch Avenue address.
