
A 24-year-old Boone man was charged with serious domestic assault Feb. 7, for a fight with his girlfriend that drew blood, according to complaints.
Andrew Peppels, wasn't at the Ames home when police went to investigate a report of a domestic assault about 12:10 a.m. Feb. 7, but his girlfriend said that Peppels had struck her, complaints said.
Police said that Peppels' girlfriend had blood on her face, a swollen right eye and red marks on her neck, complaints said. Peppels returned to the apartment while officers were still there and didn't deny the attack, complaints said. Peppels appeared intoxicated and said βI don't know. I blacked out,β complaints said.

Cheryl Matelski, 54, Lincoln Way, was charged with failure to appear at 8:45 a.m.
Andrew Peppels, 24, Boone, was charged with domestic assault at 1:26 a.m.
Daniel Troutwine, 37, Dayton, was charged with possession of a controlled substance at 1:53 p.m.
Justin Weber, 19, Roosevelt Ave., was charged with interference with official acts at 6:26 a.m.
