Ames Police: Man Pedaling With Marijuana
A 33-year-old Ames man was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana after he was spotted driving a bicycle improperly on Main Street.

A 33-year-old Ames man received multiple drug-related charges after Ames police saw him riding a bicycle improperly last week.
Ames police tried to stop Matthew Bertagnolli when they noticed that he was riding a bicycle with no head or tail lights on Main Street after after 12 a.m. April 8, according to criminal complaints.
Instead of stopping, Â Bertagnolli tried to drive away, but was caught when he crashed into the police officer's patrol car, complaints said.

The officer found suspected marijuana and cocaine in Bertagnolli's backpack, complaints said.
Bertagnolli was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense. Possession with intent to deliver marijuana is a Class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison.Â
