Ames Police: Neighbor Who Needs Help Moving Threatens to Steal Dog and Shoot Neighbor
An Ames man was charged with first-degree harassment because he threatened to put a bullet in the head of his neighbor, police say.

An Ames man was charged with first-degree harassment Feb. 9, for threatening to kill his neighbor when asking him to help move some items, according to criminal complaints.
Terry Stromley, 49, of Carroll Ave., asked his neighbor for help moving some personal items about 1 a.m. Feb. 9 and then threatened to steal his neighbor's dog and “put a bullet in his head,” complaints said.
The neighbor told police that Stromley mentioned having an AK-47 and a Mac-10 stored around town and said it wasn't the first time that Stromley threatened to put a bullet in the man's head, complaints said.

Police asked Stromley about the incident and Stromley said that he was “drunk” and didn't know anything, complaints said.
Stromley was charged with first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor.
