Ames Police on Saint Paddy's Day Patrol
Ames Police are watching for drinkers and drivers now through Saint Patrick's Day in Ames.

The Ames Police Department will be stepping up enforcement through Saint Patrick's Day weekend, according to a release from the department.
Officers will specifically be looking for drivers who are operating while under the influence or who aren't wearing their seat belts.
The Ames Police Department encourages everyone to designate a sober driver who will not be drinking any alcohol. And if you are headed out of town for Spring Break, be sure to buckle up.

This traffic enforcement project is funded through Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau grants.
