Ames Police on Super Bowl Patrol

The Ames Police Department will be stepping up enforcement during and after the Super Bowl 47, according to a release from the department.

Officers will specifically be looking for drivers who are operating while under the influence.

The Ames Police Department encourages everyone to designate a sober driver who will not be drinking any alcohol.

This traffic enforcement project is funded through Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau grants.

A 130 pound woman who drank three 12 ounce beers in one hour would be over the limit, according to a blood alcohol calculator. And a 170 pound male could drink about four 12 ounce beers in one hour and be .07.
