An Ames man who faces domestic assault charges could go to prison for allegedly slapping his girlfriend during a fight over emails he had received.

An Ames man could be sent to prison after allegedly slapping his girlfriend, according to court records and criminal complaints.
Scott Kendall, 26, on parole for a third-degree burglary conviction in Greene County, was charged with simple domestic assault Feb. 20, according to complaints and court records.
Kendall grabbed the woman's arm and slapped her face causing pain, complaints said.

The woman told police that she and Kendall were arguing over email found on Kendall's phone, according to complaints.
Kendall was charged with domestic abuse and later arrested on a parole violation, according to court records.

Kendall entered an initial plea of not guilty to the abuse charge, which is a simple misdemeanor.
