Ames Police: Woman Bit Man's Finger, Resisted Arrest
A woman was charged with domestic assault after fighting with a man, complaints show.

A 21-year-old Ames woman accused of striking her boyfriend and biting his finger, told police that she discovered her man was cheating on her and a fight broke out, according to criminal complaints.
An Ames police officer went to a Lincoln Swing home about 8:30 p.m. March 31 for a domestic assault report and saw an officer speaking with a man and also trying to stop a woman who was fleeing the area, according to criminal complaints.
The woman ignored the officer's commands and resisted and had to be directed to the ground and handcuffed, complaints said. The woman continued screaming and resisting in the patrol car, complaints said.

The man told police that the woman, Janika Herron, had bit his left finger, struck and scratched him, complaints said.
At the police station, Herron told police that she was mad at the man because he was cheating on her and they had a fight, complaints said. She said that she ran from police because she was emotional and didn't trust police, according to complaints.

Herron was charged with domestic assault and interference with official acts, both simple misdemeanors.
