Ames Police Write Five Tickets, Arrest 1, and Issue Six Warnings
Results from the latest traffic enforcement project conducted by the Ames Police Department.

Ames Police cited and warned about a dozen drivers just before Thanksgiving in a recent traffic enforcement project on South Duff Avenue and Lincoln Way.
Police wrote three drivers tickets for failing to wear a seatbelt, one for no proof of insurance, and one for failing to register a vehicle, according to a release from the city.
They warned a handful of other drivers. Two drivers received warnings for failing to wear a seat belt, one received a warning for failing to provide proof of insurance and another received a warning for failing to register a vehicle and another driver received a written warning for his window tint.

One driver was actually arrested. He was charged with driving while barred and had 11 current suspensions on his license.
Money for this traffic enforcement project came from the Iowa Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau.
