Ames Restaurants Serving on Thanksgiving
Here's some places you can find a feast in Ames today, whether you are celebrating Thanksgiving or not.

Hundreds of Ames area residents who will forego cooking their own turkeys will find a festive Thanksgiving meal at select Ames locations Thursday.
Both Village Inn and Perkins will offer their annual turkey dinner and the rest of the menu, people will find pies at both places. The restaurants take walk-ins and expect a steady day of business.

A Thanksgiving day banquet has been planned at Olde Main Brewing Co. & Restaurant.
Olde Main offers an all-you-can-eat Thanksgiving Day buffet with turkey, prime rib, ham and more from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Prices range from $8.95 to $18.95, depending on age.

Gateway Hotel & Conference Center will not offer its Thanksgiving Day banquet this year but the Iowastater restaurant will be open.
If turkey isn't what your after, both Casey's General Stores on Highway 69 and Lincoln Way said they are typically busy each Thanksgiving, they offer a large one topping pizza for $10. In fact many pizza parlors are open Thanksgiving afternoon.
Pizza Hut opens at 4 p.m. and Papa John's opens at 2 p.m. Kingpin Pizza opens at 5 p.m.
Most Asian food restaurants are closed for Thanksgiving, but Joy's Mongolian Grill will be open Thursday and close for Black Friday.
If a drive-through is more your kind of meal, McDonald’s is open 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday. The restaurants reopen at 11 p.m. Thursday night.

Sorry Buford's Steak House & BBQ, within Quality Inn & Suites, which was normally open for Thanksgiving, will be closed.
Fareway grocery stores will also be closed for Thanksgiving, but Hy-Vee is open and taking orders for prepared Thanksgiving meals for 4, 8 or 12. Choices include turkey, prime rib and boneless ham. Prices range from $39.95 to $109.95. Orders are due 24 hours in advance. Meals need about three hours of reheating time.
