Ames Snow Ordinance in Effect at 5 p.m.
Don't park on snow routes after 5 p.m. or face ticketing or towing.
The City of Ames expects to put its snow ordinance into effect by 5 p.m. Thursday.
Don't park on roads marked by red and white signs. If you do your vehicle will be ticketed and towed.
The ordinance will remain in effect until arterial streets are clear from curb to curb. Snow is expected to begin this afternoon and stop sometime Friday morning, according to National Weather Service and Weather.com reports.
