Ames Teen Accepted into US Naval Academy

Sen. Chuck Grassley announced recently that Bernard Forney, of Ames, will attend the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, for the 2013-2014 school year. 

Forney is the son of Barbara and Craig Forney. He is homeschooled and will graduate in May.  Bernard Forney is active in track and field and cross country, as well as band.  He is an Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow Troop Representative and President of the Word on Wednesday Club.

Forney was among the Iowans Grassley nominated this year for appointments to the U.S. service academies.
