Dad's Day at the Municipal Pool

Dad's swim free Sunday at the Municipal Pool, if they bring their children along. The free swim is open from 1 to 3 p.m. Find the pool at 1921 Ames High Drive, next to the high school.
Rose Fest at Reiman Gardens

Reiman Gardens will host Rose Fest from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. The display includes a collection of Griffith Buck hardy roses, AARS trial winners, antique roses and more. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, $4 for children and free for children 3 and younger.
Hope Run
Saturday's 13th Annual Hope Run for Hospice, organized by Mary Greeley Medical Center will benefit the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. It begins at the Ames Middle School, 3915 Mortensen Road. People still have time to register for the race in person by downloading the form from the hospital's website. Registration fees are $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger. Race fees are $30 on the day of the race. People will be able to register the day of the race from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. Saturday at the middle school.
Ames on the Half Shell
Can of WormsΒ will perform at this Friday's Ames on Half Shell sponsored by the Jaycees. The event takes place on Fridays through July from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bandshell Park. Admittance is $4 for adults. Children 11 and under get in free.
Pippin Opens
Pippin the story of a young man looking for meaning in life opens 7:30 p.m. at ACTORS community theater, 120 Abraham Drive. The Tony award-winning musical comedy will be performed through June 30. Tickets can be purchased at the window before each performance or at Gallery 319, 310 Main Street (515) 232-2354. Future performance dates are 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 22, 28, 29 and 2 p.m. June 23 and June 30.
Farmers' Markets
North Grand Farmers and the Ames Main Street Farmers Markets are Saturday. The North Grand Farmers Market takes place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the mall parking lot. The Main Street Market is from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday in the 400 block of Main Street and includes a cooking demonstration, children's activities and live performances.
Willy Wonka Jr.
Story Theater Company presents Willy Wonka Jr., 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Ames City Auditorium, 515 Clark Ave. Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 for adults and $6 for students and children the day of the show. Willy Wonka Jr. will also be performedΒ 7 p.m. onΒ June 14 and June 21 and 2 p.m. June 22 and June 23.

Fleetwood Mac: Fleetwood Mac plans to make a stop at the Wells Fargo Arena on June 26 to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Rumours album. Tickets range from $49 to $149 plus fees through dahlstickets.com. The line up includes original members Mick Fleetwood and John McVie and Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.
Taylor Swift: Country star Taylor Swift returns to Wells Fargo Arena on Aug. 1 with her Red tour. Tickets are on sale through dahls.tickets.com. Tickets range from $31.50 to $86.50 plus fees.
Justin Bieber: Pop star Justin Bieber will also make an appearance at the Wells Fargo Arena on July 7. Tickets are on sale now. Tickets range from $40 to $95.
Pink: P!nk will bring her Truth About Love Tour to Wells Fargo Arena Nov. 8. Tickets are already on sale. They range from $39.50 to $300.
Keith Urban: Keith Urban will bring his βLight the Fuse Tour 2013β to Wells Fargo Arena on Nov. 9. Tickets are one sale at DahlsTickets.com
