Daily Show's Indecision Tour 2012 brings evening of comedy to ISU Nov. 30

AMES, Iowa -- 'Tis the season for political analysis. What better place for a humorous take on the 2012 election than central Iowa? And who better to present a hilarious evening of comedy, politics and fake newsthan two correspondents and a writer from Comedy Central's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart"? 

 

"The Daily Show Live -- Indecision Tour 2012" will be at Iowa State University, 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, in Stephens Auditorium, Iowa State Center. Admission is free, but seating is limited. Doors open at 7 p.m.

 

The evening will begin with a video introduction from Jon Stewart followed by live performances by John Hodgman, Al Madrigal and J.R.Havlan. In addition to their entertaining post-election coverage, the threewill present an inside look at how the show is produced — from comedy and the news to the creative process. And they'll take questions from the audience.

 

Hodgman is the show's resident expert, commenting on subjects as diverse as the economy, net neutrality, time travel and head lice. A contributor to the show since 2006, Hodgman is the author of two books, and was the bumbling PC in Apple's long-running "I'm a Mac; I'm a PC" advertising campaign.

 

Al Madrigal has been with the show since 2011. Named Best Stand-Up Comedian by the HBO/U.S. Comedy Arts Festival, Madrigal co-starred in the sitcom "Gary Unmarried." He has appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O'Brien and Craig Ferguson shows.

 

Havlan is an Emmy-Award winning writer for "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," and co-wrote "America (The Book): A Citizen's Guide to Democracy Inaction" with Stewart and other Daily Show writers. He previously wrote for Bill Maher's "Politically Incorrect."
