Board of Regents Names Transparency Task Force

Iowa State Board of Regents Transparency Task Force includes Miles Lackey of Iowa State. Its first meeting takes place in April.

The State Board of Regents approved the membership of its Transparency Task Force, at its regular meeting Wednesday.

Members include Miles Lackey who joined Iowa State University President Steven Leath’s cabinet in April 2012. He is the associate vice president and chief of staff. Miles worked with U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole and also held a position at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

  • Kathleen Richardson, of the Governor’s Iowa Public Information Board, 

  • Patrice Sayre, Board of Regents Chief Business Officer, 

  • Sen. Jeff Danielson

  • Rep. Peter Cownie;

  • Mark Braun, University of Iowa;

  • Miles Lackey, Iowa State University;

  • John Johnson, University of Northern Iowa; and

  • Jack Lashier, Des Moines, Director of the Iowa Hall of Pride.

    The Transparency Task Force is charged with recommending best practices for responding to public information requests; and best practices for access to information of interest to Iowans.

    The task force's first meeting is Friday, April 5, in Des Moines.
