Fat Tuesday, for the religious it's the last day of denial and feasting before Lent --- a 40 day period of self exploration and penitence, according to Christianity for Dummies. And for the rest of us Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday is just another reason to have a party.
In Ames, Whiskey River, a reader's choice award winner is celebrating Fat Tuesday with a live band jambalaya and purple beer. The bar opened after in September 2011, after a complete remodel and celebrates every holiday with fury.
