Cruise for a Cure Ride Oct. 21

The event sponsored by the Ames Professional Firefighter Local 625 Cancer Fund will raise funds for breast cancer awareness and research.

Anyone who wants to take a fall ride and fundraise for breast cancer can join the Ames Local 625 Cruise for a Cure Oct. 21.

The Ames Professional Firefighter Local 625 Cancer Fund invites all hotrods, muscle cars, motorcycles and everyday cars to join the scenic drive through central Iowa.

The ride begins at the WalMart Super Center at 534 South Duff Ave. Registration is at noon and the cruise will begin at 1 p.m.

The route will take cruisers from Ames to Polk City, across a mile long bridge and into Ledges State Park in Boone. Food, music and fun will follow.

Registration is $10 in advance and $15 on the day of.
