Cupcake Emporium Makes 'Cupcake Wars'
Ames' Cupcake Emporium will be featured on an upcoming edition of the Food Network's 'Cupcake Wars.'
The Cupcake Emporium, a specialty shop located at 300 Main Street in Ames, is scheduled to compete on Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars”.
The episode airs Sunday June 30 and Tawyna Zerr and assistant Katherine Hickman will face off against three other bakers for a chance to win $10,000 and more.

Zerr, a former welder, opened Cupcake Emporium in July of 2010 and auditioned for the Food Network's cupcake show that same year but was rejected. She tried out again in 2012 and Zerr said she's finally now allowed to tell customers to watch the episode.
