Cyclone Football Player Charged with Drug Possession Plays Season Opener
Willie Scott's suspension was lifted allowing him to play the Aug. 31 season opener against UNI.

Iowa State Cyclone Football Player Willie Scott, who was charged with possession of a controlled substance in April, will play in the first game of the season.
Scott was suspended after the charge, but that suspension has been lifted, according to a report in the Des Moines Register.
Scott was reportedly driving without his headlights on about 9 p.m. April 3 and a substance appearing to be marijuana was seen on his lap during a traffic stop, according to initial reports. Scott pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia in July as part of a plea agreement, according to court records available online. That charge is a simple misdemeanor and Scott was ordered to pay a $22 fine, records show.
