“What’s New in Voting Procedures?” will be the program of the September 20 League of Women Voters meeting at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1416 20th Street.
Story County auditor Lucy Martin will discuss current issues regarding voter registration, absentee voting and voter identification. All are welcome to the 7:00 p.m. meeting.
The LWV is carrying on a large program in voter registration. Linda Murken, local league president, said, “Voter registration is a critical step to making sure voter rolls-and our halls of power actually reflect the diversity of our communities.” The local league has registered voters at Ames High School, PCI and the DMACC campuses, food pantrys, and will be registering voters at the September 22 FACES festival, Iowa State September 25, and Ames Public Library October 8 9:30-1:00 p.m. and October 10 5:00-7:00p.m.
