Radio Club to Show Hospital’s Radio System

The Thursday, December 6 meeting of the Story County Amateur Radio Club will be at 7:30 pm in Conference Rooms A, B, & C (by Bessie Meyers Auditorium) at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Parking is available north of the Emergency Room and east of McFarland Clinic.  After a brief business meeting, Clint Miller will demonstrate the upgraded radio facilities at MGMC, including a remote operating position using RemoteRigs.

Two presentations will explain internet-based methods of confirming amateur radio contacts for operating awards, which are replacing the expense of mailing confirmation (or QSL) cards.  Bill Meeker will present the “Logbook of The World” program and Ron Nelson will discuss “eQSLs.”  All licensed and prospective amateur radio operators are welcome to attend without charge.  Annual memberships in the Story County Amateur Radio Club are available for $10 per year.
