Radio Club to Show Hospital’s Radio System

The Thursday, December 6 meeting of the Story County Amateur Radio Club willΒ be at 7:30 pm in Conference Rooms A, B, & C (by Bessie Meyers Auditorium) at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Parking is available north of the Emergency Room and east of McFarland Clinic.Β  After a brief business meeting, Clint Miller will demonstrate the upgraded radio facilities at MGMC, including a remote operating position using RemoteRigs.

Two presentations will explain internet-based methods of confirming amateur radio contacts for operating awards, which are replacing the expense of mailing confirmation (or QSL) cards.Β  Bill Meeker will present the β€œLogbook of The World” program and Ron Nelson will discuss β€œeQSLs.”  All licensed and prospective amateur radio operators are welcome to attend without charge.Β  Annual memberships in the Story County Amateur Radio Club are available for $10 per year.
