Hazardous Weather Alert Issued for Ames
The National Weather Service has issued a storm warning for the Ames area.

The National Weather Service has continued its dense fog advisory through this evening and said afternoon rain will turn to heavy snow overnight dropping as much as six inches on Iowa towns.
The heavy snow and strong winds will cause hazardous conditions limiting visibility and the relatively warm temperatures will cause the snow to melt and freeze on roadways, according to the National Weather Services winter storm watch for the area.
The winter storm watch will begin this evening and will last through Wednesday morning. As much as six inches of snow is possible, but the areas hardest hit were not predictable according to the warning.
