Heat Delays Little Cyclones, Des Moines East Kickoff

Ames High Little Cyclones will now play its first football game of the season at 8 p.m. Friday.

The Iowa heatwave has delayed the Ames High Little Cyclones first varsity football game of the season.

The game against Des Moines East, originally scheduled for 7 p.m. has now been pushed back to 8 p.m.

“Spirits are high for this season, and we want our players, staff and supporters to be safe at our first home game,” Ames High School Athletic Director Judge Johnston said in a media release about the delay.
