Teen Event: Hobbit Party 4 p.m. Bandshell Park

The Ames Public library is holding a teen scavenger hunt with a Hobbit theme. Hobbits, elves, dwarfs and wizards will attempt to retrieve stolen treasure from Smaug the dragon.

North Grand Farmers Market: 3 to 6 p.m. North Grand Mall

The North Grand Farmers' Market outside the JC Penneys entrance is where one can find an assortment of fresh produce, flowers and more. Farmers' wares will be on display from 3 to 6 p.m.

Story County Fair

The Story County Fair is underway at the Story County Fairgrounds in Nevada. Exhibits are on display through Wednesday. See a complete schedule at: http://www.sc-fair.com/.
