Iowa State Pockets $15K from Liberty Bowl
Iowa State University spent nearly $1 million sending the Cyclones football team, cheer squad and other to the Liberty Bowl, a record requests shows. But, the school got more than that back for participating.

Iowa State University spent nearly $1 million sending the Cyclones to the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, an expense report provided by the university shows.
Travel, food, lodging and other expenses related to the AutoZone Bowl game cost the university $949,000, according to a Liberty Bowl Expense Report released by the University.
Food and lodging expenses for the football team, cheer leaders, band and athletic department totaled about $770,000. And the University spent about $180,000 on other expenses including: entertainment, awards, promotion and equipment.

The good news is the university got $964,000 for participating in the Liberty Bowl so Iowa State came out $15,000 ahead.
