Kansas Jayhawk's Bill Self and Elijah Johnson Respond to Racist Threatening Tweets
Kansas Jayhawk Guard Elijah Johnson and other basketball players were the subject of harsh threatening tweets after defeating the Iowa State Cyclones Men's Basketball Team on Monday.

Kansas Jayhawk Guard Elijah Johnson and Jayhawk Coach Bill Self are focusing on the positives rather than the threatening and racist comments attributed to Iowa State students after the Cyclones men's basketball team's loss to KU, according to a report from the Associated Press.
Elijah Johnson told the Associated Press in a report on KCTV :
"I'm honestly not having a hard time dealing with it. I'm good at blocking out the negative stuff. I can hear you and pay it no mind," Johnson, a senior guard, said. "There's just something about being able to man up and not pay attention to certain things. My dad taught me that at a young age. I don't feed into certain things you'd think the average person would."

Coach Bill Self said he hoped the incident didn't overshadow the great game Monday night.
"Unfortunately there are idiots around in all different areas. That should not take away from the 13,000 people that were at the game that cheered their team on. It was an emotional game and a couple people responded that way," Self said.
