Main Street Cultural Arts Business District

AMES, IA – The Main Street Cultural District has orchestrated a business workshop to guide and educate small businesses in the Ames area.

This workshop is for business owners, store managers, and interested community members. It will provide helpful information tailored to fit the needs of the unique, small businesses located on Main Street. This is an opportunity to learn from industry professionals and network with other Ames businesses.Β

There is a wide variety of speakers who will be at the workshop advising and teaching how to develop a better business. The keynote speaker is Clifford Smith, CEO of GlobalVetLINK, who will be discussing the trials and successes that have lead him to where he is today. The speakers for the breakout sessions include Vada Grantham, Mike Holman, Tim Reinders, Ann Fiore, Tom Swartwood, and Deb Atkinson. They will give advice on the topics of entrepreneurship, product trends, building investing, brand identity, culinary, and nutrition.

Check-in will be at DG’s Taphouse atΒ 9 a.m.Β and the workshop will conclude atΒ 6 p.m.Β There will be two breakout sessions in which attendees will choose the topic they would like to attend. Part of the afternoon will also be spent in round table discussions at Olde Main, networking and understanding different business strategies. Lunch and refreshments from CafΓ© Diem and Della Viti will be provided to attendees complimentary of The Salon and MSCD.
