Martin Luther King Jr. Day: What's Open, What's Closed in Ames on the Holiday?

Ames City Hall will be open Monday on Martin Luther King Day but Ames Community Public Schools and Iowa State University will not hold classes.

The Ames/ISU Ice Arena will hold a no school day skating special from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Admission is $2 and skate rentals are $2.50.

The Ames Public Library at 620 Lincoln Way, will also be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday.

The United States Post Offices and some banks will be closed.
